The name Cypress carries special significance: a tree native to British Columbia, long a symbol of strength, longevity, and resilience. Those are the values we hold to: compassion, integrity, and personalized care for every family we serve.

“We are very grateful to the communities we serve, and our passion for providing guidance and comfort to bereaved families has always been at the core of our business.”

VII.Questions families ask

When you’re unsure, ask

What should we do first when a death occurs?

Call the Cypress location nearest you: Vernon, Armstrong, Lake Country, or Kamloops. Our team guides you from the very first call: we arrange the transfer of your loved one from the place of passing, walk you through the decisions ahead, and handle the paperwork and permits so you can be with your family.

What does a cremation with Cypress include?

Cypress owns and operates its own crematorium, cared for by certified crematorium operators. Cremation packages include the arrangement conference, transfer from the place of passing, help composing and posting the obituary, a suitable cremation container, the cremation fee, and delivery of the death certificate and urn or keepsake to your family.

Can I pre-plan my own funeral?

Yes. Our Advanced Planning Specialists offer a comfortable, pressure-free way to record your final wishes. Pre-planning locks in current prices, allows payments over time with no interest or financing charges, and your plan can be used at any Cypress location or transferred to any funeral home in Canada.

Do you offer eco-friendly options?

We do. Cypress offers green services including environmentally-conscious embalming, bamboo and willow caskets, biodegradable urns, and compostable scattering urns, along with guidance in choosing an eco-friendly burial or ash-laying arrangement.

Can family who live far away take part in a service?

Yes. Our online funeral live stream service brings families and friends together no matter the distance, so those who cannot travel can still be present for the service.

Which communities do you serve?

We serve the BC Interior from four locations: Vernon (our head office, opened in 2001), Armstrong, Lake Country, and Kamloops, along with the surrounding communities of the Okanagan and Thompson valleys.
